Happy Birthday keppim!
Sunday, February 05, 2012

Congratulations, you are now old[er]! Hope you have a fun birthday, keppim! We neglected birthday releases for awhile because I had been busy/lazy, but lucky for keppim, I just happened to have a release ready in time for his birthday. And lucky for you guys it's one we haven't seen for awhile. Here's the next chapter of Seigi no Mikata! Hope you all enjoy it. I know I did. Sumiko is as awesome as always :)

Releases:

Hey again guys. We're back a bit earlier than usual this time! Yay for improvements! So happy 2012 everyone! Hope everyone had a good new year day to start off the year the right way. We know we're starting the year right as we present to you the last chapter of Andante! This project that has been with us for around 8 years (despite being only 3 volumes long) is finally complete! There's been lots of hair-pulling on my part as I struggled with all the redrawing of the hair (CURSE YOU OBANA), so I'm definitely glad to see this project finally over and done with. And I'm sure Deanna, who finished translating this over a year or two ago, is glad to finally stop having to come up with creative ways to push me to finish it. Thanks for the encouragements Deanna~ And thanks to all the various staff who have worked on this project for the past couple years! Hope you readers all enjoyed the project. Have fun re-reading it to remember just what the heck happened (I know I will).

With that, I officially stamp Andante as completed! What an awesome feeling to start the new year with :)

Merry Christmas!
Sunday, December 25, 2011

Hey everyone! Sorry we disappeared again for awhile... We're ninjas like that. You'll get used to it soon if enough if you aren't already :D But today, we're here as elves! We have some presents for you today~ First is Angelique v03 extra. It's a pretty cute story about the queen candidates' dilemmas. Cookies and cream!? Oh my. The second is a re-release of Hime-chan v08 c033. We found some errors in it and decided that we should re-release. Normally we try to avoid this, but it couldn't be helped. Sorry for the problems to everyone who already downloaded the old version. Please download this new one again~ Merry Christmas everyone! Or if you don't celebrate Christmas, happy 2-releases (albeit one old...) day!

A word about manga aggregators
Monday, October 03, 2011

Hey everyone. Sorry this release was so delayed. I ran off for a bit and kept being too lazy to release despite the many proddings from Siu. So we finally have out for you the second to last chapter of Andante! Whee, it's almost over! Please enjoy this and grab it from our channel as usual. We're working on making our releases more easily accessible on our site. Please bear with us.

For those of you who may have been following the news on MangaUpdates, you will probably know about the current controversy over online manga aggregators. To compete with these manga aggregators who make tons of money and pocket it all without doing anything to contribute to the scanlation scene, some scanlators have created a new manga aggregator over at batoto.com. We realize we can't do much to stop the for-profit aggregators, so we have decided to also give a shot at combating them with this announcement by spreading awareness instead.

Please avoid using online manga aggregators if you can. Get your manga fix from the actual scanlators whenever possible (they're higher quality!). However, we understand this may not always be convenient. So if you must resort to an aggregator, please try to use an aggregator like batoto.com instead since they actually support scanlators. Just so we're all clear, scanlators are the ones who get the money from ad revenues on batoto.com, not random people hosting and making money off of scanlation. And yes, we are currently in cooperation with them and getting ad revenue from them. This money will only be used for the continuing operation of MangaArt and never for personal use. Any profit (which I doubt we'll ever get) will be disclosed and saved for future server or manga purchases. We will be as transparent as possible about our funds.

Speaking of ads, some of you might notice that we have ads on our site now. We've decided to utilize them to limit our reliance on donations. This is still experimental though and will be dependent on your reactions. Please let us know if you're absolutely against our use of them and we will reconsider.

If you have any questions or concerns you'd like me to address, feel free to comment or contact us through email/IRC.
